Student Support Services

Funded under Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965, Student Support Services, a TRiO Program, helps first-generation and low-income students to stay in college until they can earn their baccalaureate degrees.  The program is open to students who qualify under federal guidelines.

Participants receive tutoring, counseling, and remedial instruction.  The program provides opportunities for academic development, assists students with basic college requirements, and services to motivate students toward the successful completion of their post-secondary education.  The goal of Student Support Services is to increase the college retention and graduation rates of its participants and facilitate transition to the next level of higher education.  Emphasis at CMN is on transferring to a four year degree program.  With that in mind, campus trips for our students are scheduled to several other colleges and universities so students acquaint themselves with other colleges and become familiar with the transfer process.   Eligibility for participation in the program is determined by the Director of Student Support Services.  If interested in applying, please stop by the Student Services Office or see your advisor.

The Student Support Services staff consists of Myrna Warrington-Director, Barbara Frechette-Neuens-Career/Disability Counselor,  Sara Shawanokasic-Academic Advising Coordinator and Brenda Sanapaw-Administrative Assistant.   We are here to serve you.
