Welcome to the NOAA Southern Regional Climate Center
The NOAA Southern Regional Climate Center (SRCC) serves the six-state region that includes Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas. It is a region of significant climate variation that includes the semi-tropical Gulf Coast region, the windswept plains of the Texas and Oklahoma Panhandles, and the sultry cotton growing region of the Mississippi Delta.
Our services and research help to describe and explain climate and its impacts on natural systems and human activities. The information we collect, process, and distribute provides valuable input for climate-sensitive issues such as agriculture, climate change, energy, the environment, human health, risk management, transportation, and water resources..... any activity that is affected by weather or climate.
The SRCC is a partner in a national climate service program that includes the following members:
- NOAA Regional Climate Centers
-
National Climatic Data Center (Click Here for more information on NCDC)
- American Association of State Climatologists
