Management Support
An Environmental Management System (EMS) supports NOAA's mission. It is a mechanism to enable NOAA operations to efficiently and effectively understand and predict changes in the Earth's environment while conserving and managing resources to meet our Nation's economic, social, and environmental needs now and in the future.
Senior management across the Department of Commerce (DOC), the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Ocean Service (NOS) and National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science (NCCOS) fully supports the EMS initiative at NOAA. This commitment has been demonstrated through the memorandums and policies listed below and through briefings from managers at all levels.
