My thanks for contacting me about tickets for the inauguration of Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States. As you can imagine, my office has been inundated with requests. Due to the limited number of tickets available, as of Friday December 5, 2008, no further requests for tickets will be considered.
While we are disappointed we could not do more, we have tried our best to accommodate as many constituents as possible. Each congressional office received just 198 tickets. The majority of my allocation will be distributed on a first-come first-served basis, with no individual request receiving more than two tickets. A small number of tickets have been set aside for local elected officials, my staff and some members of my family.
I regret that more constituents could not be accommodated, but please understand that we have received thousands of ticket requests and simply cannot honor them all.
