Operating Hours & Seasons

Although cave tours are seasonal, Oregon Caves National Monument is always open to visitors. Occasionally in winter, snow can temporarily close park roads until they are plowed.

The Visitor Center for the 2009 season is open March 21 - November 29 except Thanksgiving Day.  Hours are as follows:

  • Summer: 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Fall & Spring: 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
 

2009 Cave Tour Schedule
Tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served basis. 
Tours last 90 minutes.

Spring
March 21 - May 22: 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, tours on the hour.
May 23 - June 19: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, tours on the hour                

Summer
June 20 - September 7: 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, tours every 30 minutes
Candlelight Tours: June 26 -September 5, Fridays and Saturdays at 6:30 pm
Off-Trail Tours:  TBA

Fall
September 8 - October 12: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, tours on the hour.
October 13 -November 29: 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, tours on the hour.
Closed Thanksgiving Day

NO CAVE TOURS during the WINTER,  November 30 - March 2010

Did You Know?
The stream that comes out of the entrance of the cave is a tributary to a watershed that empties into the Pacific Ocean. There are no human-made obstructions that would prevent salmon migration, which makes this the only cave in the National Park Service with an unobstructed link to the ocean.
