The Integrated Outpatient Code Editor (IOCE) program edits patient data to help identify possible errors in coding, and assigns Ambulatory Payment Classification numbers based on Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) codes for payment under the mandated outpatient prospective payment system (OPPS).

The files contained on this CD-ROM are the data files used in the Integrated Outpatient Code Editor (IOCE) software.

  • Valid mutually exclusive pairs
  • Valid modifiers
  • Valid Modifier differences between quarters
  • Code pairs that should or should not be used together

Please note that the code pairs contained in the IOCE software is one quarter behind the code pair edits that are in the National Correct Coding Policy Manual for Part B Medicare Carriers.

NOTICE: PLEASE RETAIN PRIOR VERSIONS OF THE IOCE DATA FILES: The data files for each issue of the IOCE represent the updated data files for that release. Consequently, if there are no changes to a particular file for a particular update, that file is usually not included on the data CD. APC, HCPCS and CCI files will always be present because those files are updated every quarter.

This product contains data only. Customers must provide their own search and retrieval software. Files are in Microsoft Word and Excel.
