Scholarships from NRCSUpdated 05/19/2008 Contact: Larry Holmes, Outreach Division Director, (301) 504-2229 Tribal Scholars Program(not currently accepting applications) The aim of the Tribal Scholars Program is to strengthen a partnership between NRCS and 1994 Institutions, increase the number of students studying in agriculture and Agency-related disciplines, and to offer employment opportunities. Tribal scholarships were first offered in 2005. They will be
awarded to U.S. citizens who are seeking a degree in agriculture or related

Asian Pacific Islander Scholars Program(not currently accepting applications) The aim of the Asian Pacific Islander (API) Scholars Program is to strengthen a partnership between NRCS and the Asian Pacific Islander community in an effort to increase the number of students studying agriculture and agency-related disciplines and offer employment opportunities. API scholarships are open to U.S. citizens at universities with high percentages of Asian and Pacific Islander students in California, Hawaii, Minnesota, Wisconsin and the Pacific Basin.

(Hispanic) Public Service Leaders ScholarshipThe U.S. Department of Agriculture's Public Service Leaders Scholarship Program is designed to promote public service and create access to higher education for undergraduate and graduate students. The scholarships are operated by Hispanic Serving Institutions and the USDA and are for students interested in pursuing a career with USDA after graduation. |
