Explanation of content of project pages
Content of individual project pages is discussed in context of the FGDC Standards Reference Model and FGDC Standards Directives
Document number
Refer to Section 1.5, Document numbering, of FGDC Standards Directive #6, Formatting FGDC Standards Documents:
The FGDC Secretariat assigns the document number upon FGDC endorsement of the standard. The document numbering scheme shall follow the convention: FGDC-STD-NNN.P-CCYY, where:
- FGDC- indicates the FGDC as the endorsing organization for the document.
- STD- indicates the document to be part of the suite of FGDC standards documents.
- NNN- indicates the overall document number, normally assigned sequentially.
P- indicates the part number for those documents composed of parts (see Section 4.3).
- CCYY- indicates the four-digit calendar year when the FGDC endorsed the standard.
This field is completed only for FGDC-endorsed standards; else it is left blank.
Maintenance authority
Refer to FGDC Standards Directive #9, Maintenance and Support:
An organization that maintains assigned standards. This organization shall be a permanent member of the Standards Working Group, dedicated and committed to the requirements outlined in this directive. This organization shall be a permanent entity with long-term stability, and not a committee, working group, or task force.
This field is completed only for FGDC-endorsed standards; else it is left blank.
Objective
Refer to Section 4.1.1, Objective, of FGDC Standards Directive #6, Formatting FGDC
Standards Documents:
The objective shall clearly state the purpose of the standard.
Scope
Refer to Section 4.1.2, Scope, of FGDC Standards Directive #6, Formatting FGDC Standards Documents
The scope shall be clearly defined, including what is within and not within the scope of the standard.

Project history
The project history is a table listing key documents created during the standards approval process.

- Version is the version number assigned to a particular type of document
- Date is
the date of the the document. Date is denoted by the four-digit
calendar year, followed by the two-digit month and two-digit day when
available, based on ISO 8601:2004, Data elements and interchange formats -- Information interchange -- Representation of dates and times
