Diagnosing Shoot-Boring Insects of Pines

Editor's note
The following abstract describes a publication that is only available for purchase. A link to ordering information is on this page.

North Central Regional Publication

This publication, which essentially is a table listing shoot-boring insects of pines and a flow chart, is intended to help Christmas-tree growers, landscapers and foresters determine what insect has caused damage to shoots of pine trees. The publication has drawings of the moth life cycle and the beetle life cycle and also a drawing to help you identify the terminal leader and the lateral shoots of a pine tree. The flow chart helps you diagnose which shoot-boring insect is attacking your trees.
