ibuprofen (I-byoo-PROH-fen)

 A drug used to treat fever, swelling, pain, and redness by preventing the body from making a substance that causes inflammation. It is a type of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). Also called Motrin and Advil.
