The Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR), a public health agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is releasing public health consultations and fact sheets for the National Asbestos Exposure Review's (NAER) 28 "Phase 1" sites. In the first phase of the review, 28 priority sites are being evaluated. These sites, referred to as the “Phase 1” sites, were selected on the basis of the following criteria:
