The Southern Coastal Agromedicine Center is located at the North Carolina Agromedicine Institute and is focused on agricultural disease and injury research, education and prevention. The center serves North Carolina, Alabama, South Carolina, Virginia, Mississippi, Florida, Georgia, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, and addresses agricultural health and safety concerns arising from regional commonalities: climate, crop and animal operations, timber and commercial fishing practices, migrant labor stream and poverty in rural areas. The NC Agromedicine Institute, based at East Carolina University, is a collaborative Institute of East Carolina University, North Carolina Agriculture and Technical State University, and North Carolina State University.
