The National Fish and Wildlife Foundation bestowed its 2006 Guy Bradley Award to U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Special Agent Jack Baker in recognition of his lifetime of contributions to the protection of the nation’s wildlife resources.

Agent Baker is a criminal investigator with the FWS Office of Law Enforcement in Washington, N.C. Baker was honored for his efforts to safeguard migratory birds, fish and game resources, and endangered species.

Agent Baker began his service as an FWS criminal investigator in 1986. His accomplishments include undercover investigations that exposed unlawful commercial waterfowl guiding along the Outer Banks and multiple surveillance operations that disrupted out-of-season waterfowl hunts.

His investigative skills secured the prosecution of individuals and groups unlawfully selling black bears, reptiles, striped bass, red drumand American eels. Agent Baker has completed cases involving the taking of endangered red wolves, poisonings of bald eagles, destruction of eagle nest trees, and the theft of water from a national wildlife refuge.
