Chop and dice in style with this unique and georgeous cutting board, made of glass depicting the painted image that decorates the dome in the Library of Congress. The crowning glory of the Thomas Jefferson Building is the huge dome above the Main Reading Room decorated with paintings by Edwin Howland Blashfield. The collar consists of a ring of 12 seated figures, male and female, representing the 12 countries, or epochs, which have contributed most to the development of present-day civilization in this country. At the apex of the dome and just beneath its lantern, a female figure representing Human Understanding lifts the veil of ignorance while two cherubs attend her - a celebration of the educative and civilizing power of books and the Library of Congress itself.
