A powerful storm will cross Eastern Idaho today, which will produce very strong winds. A high wind warning is in effect for the Snake River Plain, with winds expected to reach sustained speeds of 40 to 45 mph. Gusts over 50 mph are likely. A wind advisory is in effect for all mountain areas in Eastern Idaho, with winds expected to reach sustained speeds of 25 to 40 mph. Gusts to 50 mph are possible.

Temperatures will gradually warm through the remainder of the week. A bubble of high pressure is forecast to build into the region for the weekend. Valley temperatures will warm into the 70s for the weekend, with some locations reaching the lower 80s. Highs in the mountain region will reach a pleasant range of the mid 60s to mid 70s.
