March is National Women’s History Month

The 2006 theme, Women: Builders of Communities and Dreams, honors the spirit of possibility and hopes set in motion by generations of women in their creation of communities and their encouragement of dreamsThe 2006 theme, Women: Builders of Communities and Dreams, honors the spirit of possibility and hopes set in motion by generations of women in their creation of communities and their encouragement of dreams.

Women’s History Month began as a local celebration in Sonoma County, California, in 1978. It quickly spread across the Nation and now is celebrated in thousands of schools, workplaces, and communities.

Federal Women’s program managers throughout NRCS will host activities this month and all are encourage to support them. This is a great opportunity to acknowledge the many contributions women have made to the country, the workforce, and our lives.
