OpenOffice.org FAQ

OpenOffice.org is a free, easy to use and full-featured office suite for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, graphics, databases and more. OpenOffice.org supports all kinds of documents, including Microsoft Office, Acrobat PDF and Open Document Format.


MORE TECHNICAL INFORMATION

The OpenOffice.org installer is offered with the Java download (Windows only). During the installation of Java, you may be presented with an option of downloading OpenOffice.org. If you do not wish to download OpenOffice.org, please indicate your preference in the checkbox.

When you choose to install OpenOffice.org with the Java installation, a shortcut icon is added to your desktop, upon completion of the Java installation. To remove the OpenOffice.org icon and the related installation file, use the Add/Remove Programs utility in the Microsoft Windows Control Panel.
  1. Click Start
  2. Select Settings
  3. Select Control Panel
  4. Double click the Add/Remove Programs control panel icon
  5. The Add/Remove control panel displays a list of software on your system. Select OpenOffice Installer, and then click the Remove button.
