Unknowingly you could have installed adware or spyware programs on your system in these ways:
By visiting some websites and clicking on a link to a page that contains adware or spyware programs
When a peer-to-peer (P2P) or shared network application is installed, adware or spyware can be part of the installation package
Adware or spyware programs may hide in the browser's cache directory.
Some email attachments may include adware or spyware programs.
