Do you have Adware or Spyware on your computer?


Adware is a program that displays popup advertisements. Some of these programs are written using Java technology.

Spyware is a program that tracks user actions when visiting websites.

Sun Microsystems does not bundle adware or spyware programs with any of its software.


Unknowingly you could have installed adware or spyware programs on your system in these ways:
  • By visiting some websites and clicking on a link to a page that contains adware or spyware programs
  • When a peer-to-peer (P2P) or shared network application is installed, adware or spyware can be part of the installation package
  • Adware or spyware programs may hide in the browser's cache directory.
  • Some email attachments may include adware or spyware programs.
