WDCs in Russia are a component part of the World Data Center System organized and maintained by the International Council for Science (ICSU). WDC System activity is coordinated by the ICSU Panel on WDCs and carried out according to the WDC System Guide. The centers provide a unimpeded access of the scientific organizations and scientists, first of all from Russia, to data of planetary geophysics.


Two of these WDCs are the part of the Geophysical Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences and situated in Moscow.
WDC for Solar-Terrestrial Physics WDC for Solid Earth Physics

Four of the WDCs in Russia operates under the overview of the Federal Service of Russia for Hydrometeorology and Monitoring of the Environment. All these Centers are situated in Obninsk.
WDC for Meteorology WDC for Oceanography	WDC for Rockets and Satellites WDC for Rotation of the Earth
One more WDC operates under the overview of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russian Federation and situated in Gelendzhik WDC for Marine Geology and Geophysics
