Inauguration Information
Since Election Day, my offices have heard from thousands of constituents wanting information about President-elect Obama's Inauguration on January 20, 2009.
As information becomes available, I will post it here, including links to Web sites that will help those of you planning a visit to Washington, DC for this historic event.
The Inauguration is open to the public, and it is anticipated that several million Americans will flock to the Washington Mall to hear from their new president.
A ticket is not necessary to attend Obama's Inauguration. However, each member of Congress will receive 198 tickets to areas of the Washington Mall that are reserved. Over the last couple of weeks, I have received more than 2,000 requests for these 198 tickets. Therefore, I am no longer taking any requests for these reserved tickets.
After I have determined how these tickets will be distributed, someone from my Washington office will contact everyone who was included on the list for reserved tickets.
If you have any additional questions, please call my Washington, DC office at (202) 225-4671.
Here is the latest information from the Inaugural Committee on Attending the Swearing-In Ceremony, the Inaugural Kick-off at the Lincoln Memorial, Bringing Young Children, and the Inaugural Program.
