Water Resources of NebraskaReal-Time Streamflow Sites![]() ![]() Welcome to the USGS Web page for the Nebraska Water Science Center (WSC). Here you'll find information on Nebraska's rivers and streams, ground water, water quality, and many other topics. The USGS operates the most extensive satellite network of stream-gaging stations in the state, many of which form the backbone of flood-warning systems. The USGS provides current ("real-time") stream stage and streamflow, water-quality, and ground-water levels for over 130 sites in Nebraska. Nebraska Water Science Center HighlightsView New USGS Reports Online NowReports released by the USGS Nebraska Water Science Center this year cover a wide range of important topics from water quality in the Niobrara River to a ground-water model of the Loup and Elm river basins of north central Nebraska and much more. Please see the Highlighted Publications sections below for links to any of several recent reports with valuable water resources information and data. To view a list of publications generated by scientists at the USGS Nebraska Water Science Center, click on the “Publications” tab from the menu at the top of your screen. From there, you have the option to search by topic (surface water, ground water, water quality, etc.) or by USGS report series (Fact Sheet, Scientific Investigations Report, Circular, etc.). Publications are posted as they are released, beginning with the most recent, and include links in most cases directly to a downloadable PDF document. You can also search for any existing report generated by the U.S. Geological Survey at the USGS Publications Warehouse with basic to advanced search options. And remember, we also have several of our more recent reports available free in hard copy at our office.
