oligodendroglioma (AH-lih-goh-DEN-droh-glee-OH-muh)

 A rare, slow-growing tumor that begins in oligodendrocytes (cells that cover and protect nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord). Also called oligodendroglial tumor.
