Welcome! The Purdue University Police Department in West Lafayette, Indiana is a professional law enforcement department empowered by the University. State law grants Purdue police officers the same powers of arrest and law enforcement authority that city and county police officers have. Purdue officers protect and serve with a focus on meeting the special needs of the campus community numbering over 38,000 students and nearly 15,000 faculty and staff members. Guided by a community policing philosophy, the police department offers a variety of crime prevention and educational programs. While we understand no environment is free of crime, the Purdue University Police Department is committed to partnering with our campus community to foster an environment conducive to learning, discovery, and engagement in support of the mission of Purdue University.

ANNUAL SECURITY REPORT: "Your Campus Your Safety" This report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on-campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by Purdue University; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus. The report includes institutional policies concerning campus security, such as policies concerning sexual assault, and other matters. It also includes crime reporting procedures for students and staff, along with emergency reporting procedures and information about various crime-prevention programs.
