Philadelphia Toxic Air Pollutants Risk Reduction Project

EPA and Philadelphia Air Management Services (AMS) are conducting a joint project, called the "Philadelphia Toxic Air Pollutants Risk Reduction Project" to help reduce the threat to their health which Philadelphia's residents face from exposure to "air toxics." Air toxics are chemicals known to cause cancer or other serious disease. EPA and Philadelphia AMS are undertaking this project because EPA's National Air Toxics Assessment (NATA) shows that residents of Philadelphia face higher than average health risks from exposure to air toxics. EPA and Philadelphia AMS have prepared a brochure which discusses the Philadelphia Toxic Air Pollutants Risk Reduction Project (PDF, 214KB, 2 pages, info about PDF). For further information contact Ray Chalmers of EPA Region 3's Air Protection Division at 215-814-2061 or at chalmers.ray@epa.gov.
