The Nurses Recruitment and Retention Fund was established in 1999 to assist with the recruitment and retention of Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Registered Psychiatric Nurses in Manitoba. Personal Care Home Grant: |
Recipients meeting the eligibility criteria can apply to the Nurses Recruitment and Retention fund for a grant in the amount of $2000.00.
Relocation Assistance: |
The "Come Home to Manitoba" campaign was established to support recruitment of nurses to Manitoba, offering relocation assistance, up to $5,000 for nurses who come to this province to work.
Conditional Grant for Manitoba's Nursing Graduates: |
Recipients meeting the eligibility criteria can apply to the Nurses Recruitment and Retention fund for a grant in the amount of $4000.00.
Continuing Education Funding: |
The NRRF has allocated more than $9.7 million to the Regional Health Authorities to support ongoing education for nurses, in addition to educational monies provided within the collective agreement. Nurses may access these funds by contacting their Regional Continuing Education Committees.
Specialty Programs/Projects: |
Targeting both the recruitment and retention of nurses, the NRRF has allocated ‘one-time’ funding for a range of specialty programs and projects that help nurses enter, or remain in, Manitoba’s nursing workforce.
