UK HealthCare is the umbrella organization for the growing and vibrant academic medical center at the University of Kentucky.

The Albert B. Chandler Hospital — ranked among the top 100 hospitals in America — is a 473-bed facility on the university's south campus that serves as the only level 1 trauma center for Central and Eastern Kentucky, meaning it is equipped to handle the most severe and serious health-care issues. Now, the hospital is in the midst of a $700 million expansion project, the largest construction project in Kentucky. More than 100 UK HealthCare doctors are ranked among the nation's best.

UK Chandler Hospital will ultimately grow to more than 600 beds and, along with the Kentucky Clinic for outpatient care and Kentucky Children's Hospital, be equipped to handle the most serious illnesses in a state-of-the-art facility.
