The activities listed below and many others are moving the agency forward in its mission, "to sustain the health, diversity, and productivity of the Nation's Forests and grasslands to meet the needs of present and future generations." As we move forward, we have a tremendous opportunity to apply what we have learned over the last century of natural resource management. We will build on our successes to improve our natural resource and public service mission and to ensure that our nation's public lands remain the best in the world.

The Lewis and Clark Forest is currently scheduled to begin Forest Plan revision in 2010. Along with other Forests in the Northern Region, the Lewis and Clark is currently instituting Environmental Management System (EMS). The focus in fiscal year 2008 is on Fleet Management and reducing fuel consumption. The Forest will post on our internet web site an action plan outlining steps that will be taken to meet the agency goal of a 2% (two percent) annual reduction in fuel consumption.

The following are proposed activities, resource and environmental analysis distributed by the Lewis and Clark National Forest. Please click on a subject area for more specific information.
