Text Box: Flu ScreenSelected Project

The Department of Healthand Human Services is coordinating a project to gather public input on Pandemic Influenza vaccination prioritization.  In order to prioritize different segments of the population, such as healthcare workers and first responders, CDC provided multiple in-person and online opportunities for individuals across the U.S. to participate in this public engagement activity.

Using online e-health engagement strategies, we coordinated online dialogues regarding vaccine prioritization that allowed for observation, participation, and discussion from approximately 440 participants.  The facilitated, online discussion lasted three days and included a wide range of participants, representing 44 states and a variety of professional and personal interests. A total of 1,275 messages were shared throughout the three-day dialogue. The results of the live meetings and the web dialogue will be taken into consideration for the final vaccination prioritization guidance, which will be vetted by numerous agencies and the White House. Read the summary of the web dialogue or view the polling results for more information.
