Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to Address Espacio USA: Vanguardia Latina Participants

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will receive the Vanguardia Latina 2006 Charter from students participating in the Espacio USA Conference. Following the presentation Secretary Rice will deliver brief remarks and take questions from the students. This event will take place on Friday, May 5, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. at the Inter-American Development Bank’s Enrique V. Iglesias Conference Center in Washington, D.C.

The event is pool press coverage for television cameras and open press coverage for writers and still photographers. Media wishing to cover the event must RSVP to Mildred Rivera at the Inter-American Development Bank at (202) 623-2319 or MildredR@iadb.org no later than 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 5.

Check in for writers and still photographers begins at 12:15 p.m. Final access for all press is 12:45 p.m.
All press must use the main entrance of the Inter-American Development Bank at 1300 New York Avenue, N.W., Washington D.C.

Media representatives must RSVP and may attend this event upon presentation of one of the following: (1) a U.S. Government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense, or Foreign Press Center), (2) a media-issued photo identification card, or (3) a letter from their employer on letterhead verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo identification (driver’s license or passport).
