Sample Design for the 2000 Assessment
The 2000 NAEP assessment sample consisted of public and nonpublic school students drawn throughout the United States and its jurisdictions. The sample was used to generate estimates that measured the nation's student population and various student groups of interest. The national main assessment utilized multistage probability sampling that split the United States into geographical primary sampling units (PSUs). The state assessment also used multistage probability sampling, although with fewer stages, within each participating state or jurisdiction. Last updated 08 May 2008 (MH) |
