Snowfall and rain storms can rapidly and unexpectedly cause dangerous travel conditions. Flash flooding almost always accompanies heavy rains. Never cross flooded washes. For the latest road conditions related to weather, call the appropriate ranger district. Forest Road Closures December 8, 2008 (Catalina Mountains) Beginning this year and following years all Mt. Lemmon forest roads will remain closed from December 15th until March 1st. This includes the Oracle Control Road, on the back side of Mt. Lemmon. Details November 4, 2008 (Pinaleno Mountains) The upper portion of State Highway 366, or the Swift Trail, will officially close for the winter at 0600 on November 15, 2008.
