The Sacramento Nutrition, Family & Consumer Sciences (NFCS) Program links research-based education with life experiences to help individuals with limited resources improve their lives, their families, and their communities. Our NFCS Programs develop and implement community-based educational outreach that addresses critical needs of the county's diverse multicultural communities.

Master Food Preservers Master Food Preservers
Trained volunteers are certified to provide up-to-date information on safe food handling and the prevention of food borne illness, conduct monthly public workshops that demonstrate research-based methods for preserving food safely at home to prevent bacterial contamination, participate in public service activities, and answer consumer phone inquiries.
