Agricultural Waste Management Systems-A Primer (NRCS-NEDC-000115)
Overview
This training provides an overview of agricultural waste management
systems. It covers background, safety and hazards, planning, and functions
of agricultural waste management systems. It is intended for field
personnel, NRCS supervisors and managers with responsibilities relating to
agricultural waste management systems. This course is a prerequisite to
the Agricultural Waste Management Systems - Level 2 course.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of the training, the participant will be able to:
- Relate the NRCS basic philosophy pertaining to agricultural waste
management systems.
- Relate a general understanding of applicable laws and regulations as
they apply to agricultural waste management systems.
- Explain why safety in an agricultural waste management system is of
prime consideration.
- Provide a brief overview of the importance of an AWMS plan and the
functions of an agricultural waste management system.
Delivery Method
The course is comprised of a self-paced booklet with an accompanying
video.

Less than one hour

Any Federal, State, or district employee, tribal representative, and
others who:
- are or will be providing technical assistance in the planning and
design of agricultural waste management systems.
- supervise/manage employees involved in providing technical
assistance in planning and design of agricultural waste management
systems.
