The number of records included in the Portal's index database increased by 7%, from just over 119 million to 127,298,406 records.
This version of the Portal does not include any major new features at this time. The next scheduled release (version 1.2 is due at the end of March) will include
- A demonstration of the use of GBIF-mediated data in niche modelling
- Load balancing among the GBIF mirror sites
- A beta version of OGC services that will offer density coverage for taxa, providers, resources, networks, countries, and host countries, all with two resolutions (1.0 degree and 0.1 degree), and point data, depending on the requested resolution
Bug fixes in the current version include:
- Indexing history: bug fixes to retrieval of indexing process start and end dates for the Data Tracking page, as linked from the data resource pages
- Indexing history: bug fix to the generated chart timeline image (Data Tracking page)
- Occurrence detail page: bug fix to handle changes or resuse of ID values on providers' side
- Occurrence download: bug fix to display and store the details of the original search request for the download
- Download: bug fixes to correctly report a failed or timed out download
- Indexing, TAPIR protocol: bug fixes for compatibility with newer provider tools
- Indexing, TAPIR protocol: TAPIR metadata retrieval bug fixes
- Indexing: bug fixes regarding scheduling
- Indexing, consistency checks: improved deduction of country names from point data
- Occurrence search: bug fix to enable subspecies searching
- Internationalisation: added support for a default locale message where the selected locale is missing
- Logging download: bug fixes for download from the Data Tracking page
