The Society for the Preservation of Natural History Collections (SPNHC, pronounced "spinach") has signed the new MOU, and so is the newest organisational Associate Participant in GBIF. SPNHC is an international organisation whose mission is improving preservation, conservation and management of natural history collections to ensure their continuing value to society.

GBIF welcomes this society of professionals who work directly with collections, and are often the ones responsible for digitising their collections' data and making them available through GBIF.
