The national equine resource team known as HorseQuest began collaborative work to harness the Cooperative Extension System’s best information to provide traditional and expanding clientele a source of reliable and up-to-date horse information on equine science and management.



Who Are These Experts?

This group of horse experts includes over 50 (and still growing) extension horse specialists from around the country including teaching and research faculty, veterinarians, and professional extension staff from leading universities. Internet users can interact with these experts to obtain customized answers to their questions by asking a question and joining an online chat or web cast.

Search frequently asked questions (FAQs) to find simple, clear answers from experts on topics such as nutrition, reproduction, health care, management, training and behavior, selection, and many other topics.

News & Upcoming Events:
Everyday something’s happening in the equine world. Check out the horse news and calendar of events for local, state, and national levels.

Instructional Videos:
View instructional horse videos on safe equine handling, basic training, and horse showing skills. More videos are being added all the time.

Instructional Learning Lessons:
Discover one of our self-paced lessons found under our site's Self Learning link. We are currently developing a lesson to address the needs of the Adult Leader for youth horse club leaders.

Why is salt given to horses? Can the horse have a salt block and mineral block in stall together?
