U.S. Exporter Assistance
Export Basics
Are You Ready to Export?
Many U.S. companies have discovered the profit potential of exporting. If you are new to exporting, the U.S. Department of Agriculture - Foreign Agriculture Service (FAS) offers a brief questionnaire to help you make the critical decisions necessary to expand your market outside the United States. If you are already exporting, it will help you identify additional information so that you may export more effectively.
Recipe for Export Success
The best way to achieve export success is to formulate an export strategy based on solid information and sound assessments.

By carefully screening target markets or options for market entry, U.S. companies have better export opportunities. Good planning assures successful exporting, which encourages U.S. companies to continue to sell to other countries.

The USDA-FAS has designed a brief tutorial to guide U.S. food, fish, fiber, and forest product companies, new to exporting, through the information gathering and assessment process that is needed to develop a successful export plan or strategy: "Recipe for Export Success".
