Animal Ethics InfoLink
This Australian Web site provides links to information for researchers, teachers and members of Animal Ethics Committees (similar to IACUCs) about accreditation and licensing, the 3Rs, and education and training as well as guidelines on a range of issues including animal care, animal supply, and procedures such as blood collection and wildlife research.

Australian and New Zealand Council for the Care of Animals in Research and Teaching (ANZCCART)
The goals of ANZCCART are to promote the responsible use of animals in research and teaching and encourage informed discussion within the community.

European Centre for the Validation of Alternative Methods (ECVAM)
The reference center, at an international level, for the development and scientific and regulatory acceptance of alternative testing methods aimed at replacing, reducing or refining the use of laboratory animals.

European Concensus-Platform for Alternatives (ecopa)
This pan-European platform is a mechanism to reach consensus between interested parties, i.e. animal welfare, industry, academia and governmental institutions as an efficient way to stimulate research into alternatives to animal experiments and enforcing the acceptance of alternatives in experimental practice.

European Partnership for Alternative Approaches to Animal Testing (EPAA)
A collaborative effort between the European Commission services and major companies that aims to accelerate the development, validation, and acceptance of alternative approaches.

European Society for Toxicology In Vitro (ESTIV)
A European professional society that provides information in the field of in vitro toxicology and of alternatives to animal experimentation

Fund for the Replacement of Animals in Medical Experiments (FRAME)
Contains international legislation, links, history, publications, news, and general information about alternatives.

Grupo de Trabajo Especializado en Métodos Alternativos (GTEMA)
Part of the Asociación Española de Toxicología (AET), a Spanish group on alternative methods.

Interagency Coordinating Committee for the Evaluation of Alternative Methods (ICCVAM)
ICCVAM and its supporting center, NICEATM (the National Toxicology Program Interagency Center for the Evaluation of Alternative Toxicological Methods), coordinate the development, validation, acceptance, and harmonization of alternative toxicological test methods throughout the United States Federal government.

Johns Hopkins Center for Alternatives to Animal Testing (CAAT)
Information about grants, in vitro toxicology, and validation of alternatives program. Includes CAAT Newsletter and CAATALYST (for middle school students). Also hosts the Altweb Web site.

Laboratory Animal Welfare Training Exchange (LAWTE)

National Centre for the Replacement, Refinement and Reduction of Animals in Research (NC3Rs)
The NC3Rs provides a UK focus for the promotion, development and implementation of the 3Rs in animal research.

Netherlands Centre Alternatives to Animal Use (NCA)
The NCA stimulates development, validation, and application of alternatives to animal experiments in the Netherlands.

The Norwegian Reference Centre for Laboratory Animal Science and Alternatives
Norwegian School of Veterinary Science. Laboratory Animal Unit.
Provides educational information for those who work with experimental animals, by arranging courses, providing a database of audiovisual aids that may be used as alternatives to animals in teaching (NORINA), and ensuring that the 3Rs are followed in practice.

Universities Federation for Animal Welfare (UFAW)
Scientific and technical animal welfare organization working to improve the welfare of animals kept as pets, in zoos, laboratories, and on farms and of wild animals with which we interact. UFAW funds research, holds symposia, and produces publications on animal welfare.

University of California Center for Animal Alternatives
Contains UC Alert Newsletter, resources on monoclonal antibody production, searching for alternatives, information resource guides, and workshop proceedings.
