Products* currently archived here are those that are unique to this site. The majority of the maps displayed under “current”and “forecast” conditions actually reside on servers maintained by various government climate-monitoring entities, such as the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) or the Joint Agricultural Weather Facility (JAWF). Some past editions of data maps are in publically available archives and others aren’t, although the current trend is toward more available archives. You can contact the agency that generates a product to see whether “back issues”are available via means other than the web.

* In the jargon of applied climatology, “product” refers to a way of mapping data. Each drought, soil moisture or precipitation map is a product.
