Environmental Characterizations

Environmental Characterizations integrate ecological and socioeconomic information to describe the physical environment, biological communities, human dimensions, and management issues in coastal regions. The Center and its partners have produced characterizations on CD-ROMs or as Web sites that often include such components as spatial data, maps, and geographic information systems (GIS)-based resources that help address particular management issues.
