William C. Smith was named as Assistant Administrator for the Office of Program Evaluation,
Enforcement and Review and Dr. Kenneth Petersen as Assistant Administrator for the
Office of Field Operations.

Recall Management Staff
This staff leads and coordinates all FSIS Recall activities in support of FSIS' public health mission.
Regulatory Operations & District Offices
FSIS has 15 District Offices throughout the U.S. These offices have provided 24-hour emergency telephone numbers.
State Program Liaison Staff
FSIS collaborates with the States, the Food and Drug Administration, and other Federal agencies on issues
that cross jurisdictional lines. This staff's functions include oversight of Federal/State cooperative agreements.
Resource Management & Planning Staff
This staff provides leadership in Field Operations allocation and distribution of human and financial
resources to accomplish FSIS' public health goals. FSIS must effectively utilize its professional workforce
and financial resources in order to implement new initiatives and ensure food safety and security.
