Updated CDC Yellow Fever Map for Ecuador

This map updates the Ecuador-specific yellow fever risk areas to the existing Map 4-16: Yellow fever-endemic zones in the Americas, 2007 in CDC Health Information for International Travel 2008 (the Yellow Book). This map reflects the following risk areas for which yellow fever vaccination is recommended:

  • For all travelers older than 9 months who are traveling to the following provinces in the Amazon Basin: Morona-Santiago, Napo, Orellana, Pastaza, Sucumbíos, and Zamora-Chinchipe, and all other areas in the eastern part of the Andes Mountains.
  • This recommendation does NOT include the cities of Quito and Guayaquil and the Galápagos Islands.

For other countries in the Americas, please refer to Map 4-16.
