Hair Loss & Replacement for Dummies

Tuesday January 13, 2009
I've just had the opportunity to get my hands on the new book Hair Loss & Replacement for Dummies and have just posted a review of the book in my hair loss section.

Of course, if you've read many of my articles and posts, you know I'm not a big fan of pills, rugs, creams, and scalpels to combat hair loss. I think it's almost always a better (and cheaper) option to let nature take its course and consult with your haircutter to create a style that works well with what you've got. That said, this book is a good option for those who feel the need to take the hair loss battle a step further.

Slick Man's Hairstyle

Sunday January 11, 2009
I was at Starbucks this morning getting my usual cup of Earl Grey when in walked a man with a haircut nearly identical to the guy in this photo. The cut was cleanly tapered in back and worn with defined side part (pomade gives control and shine).

One of the nice things about the guy's style is that, while many would find the hair somewhat formal, he had it paired with great jeans and a plain white T-shirt.

I'd really love to see this trend make a strong comeback. What a super clean, masculine, groomed look!

Cool Retro Cuts

Tuesday December 30, 2008
Just saw the movie Valkyrie over the weekend. I thought it was a good film and I really enjoyed the retro men's hairstyles. I thought Jamie Parker (who played Werner von Haeften) had a cool slick side part with a tight taper up the back (common for the era portrayed in the movie). I'd love to see those extremely well groomed styles make a bit of a comeback.

New Year = New Look

So the new year is upon us. This is the time when we make resolutions to lose weight, stop smoking, drink less, save more, find a new job, etc., but this is also a great time for us to think about our look.

I suggest changing up your hairstyle for the new year. It's a fast, inexpensive, and dramatic way to freshen things up and get noticed. To that end, we've got some great resources for you. Learn how to choose the right hairstyle for your face shape or lifestyle, then take a look around our vast style galleries and choose a great new look. We've even got tons of information to show you how to care for your new style. I've also just posted a new article on how to find a new barber or stylist just in case your haircutter is the one keeping you in a rut!

Have a Great Looking New Year!
