Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?

Friday January 16, 2009
If you haven't yet seen Slumdog Millionaire run, don't walk. Of all the films I've seen this year (if not, this decade), Slumdog is by far the best one. It is heartwarming and heartbreaking. Breathtaking and breathless. It is just fantastic. And the world agrees, having just awarded it the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture/Drama (and director, screenplay and score!). What I was and am looking forward to is the Bollywood-inspired fashions that will hopefully filter down to us. In my mind Bollywood fashion means three things -- bold gorgeous colors, fabulous fabrics and rich textures. Plus, loads of dazzling bling! Even Freida Pinto (the stunning star of Slumdog) infused the Globes' red carpet with a splash of color in this draped Christian Lacroix number, which is just lovely against her olive complexion. Hopefully, she'll keep up the colorful looks for the next few award shows and show us how it's done!

The Golden Globes!

Tuesday January 13, 2009
It was hard to choose a favorite amongst the gorgeous gowns at The 66th Annual Golden Globes. There were so many styles (asymmetrical! pleats!), colors (red! beige!) and designers (Chanel! Dior!). What's a girl to do. Well, we didn't have to choose one...how about ten! Check out some of our favorites and let us know your thoughts! And stay tuned for the all the upcoming award shows, including the Oscars!

People's Choice Awards!

Thursday January 8, 2009
It's beginning...AWARD SEASON. And last night was the People's Choice Awards where the celebs stepped out in all their finest. Short and sassy, long and lovely, it was all there on the red carpet and everything was gorgeous. Some of my favorites were Kate Hudson in Gucci and Marisa Tomei in Donna Karan. Also in Donna Karan and one of my mom's favorites, was Debra Messing taking the little black dress to a whole new level. Seeing how creative and gorgeous the stars were last night makes me excited for the next month of red carpet loveliness. Stay tuned for a month of gallery gorgeousness!

Ringing In The New Year In Style

Friday January 2, 2009
Now that New Year's Eve is over, we can look back and check out all the fabulous party wear that celebs wore to celebrate to ring in 2009. Paris and Nicky Hilton both wore shiny and sparkly silver mini-dresses to their NYE party down under in Australia. And the always sexy and daring (and talented!) Katy Perry wore a black tight corset number, which perfectly complimented her new black bob (think Louise Brooks). But it was those fabulous performers and stars who braved the frigid cold in Time Square who had to be creative with their looks. It was below zero with the wind chill. So how do you look stylish while staying warm-ish? Kellie Pickler donned all white, with some fur (or maybe faux-fur) accoutrements. Taylor Swift, who performed, wore a cute sparkly halter with leather fingerless gloves, but even the country-cutie couldn't brave the cold for too without putting on her military-style winter coat. But it was her fingerless gloves that gave her coat a hip look. So maybe a bulky coat is a necessity this winter, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't look cool, right? Take a cue from Taylor and make the look your own -- fingerless gloves, a sparkly scarf, neon ear muffs -- whatever suits your personality!
