Indictment Reveals Details of Ohio Home Invasion

Prosecutors will seek the death penalty against a 22-year-old Ohio man who broke into a Dayton home, killed a young mother and left her 4-year-old son at an Interstate rest stop. A grand jury indicted Charlie W. Myers for aggravated murder, aggravated robbery and gross sexual imposition involving a child under 13.

Suspect Arrested in Strangling of Mom, 4 Kids

A 25-year-old ex-convict has been arrested after a car chase in Texas in connection with the strangling deaths of an Oklahoma woman and her four children. Joshua Steven Durcho was arrested near Waco after his car collided with a guardrail and a tree after police tried to stop what they thought was a drunk driver.
Durcho waived extradition and is expected to be returned to El Reno, Oklahoma today. Read more...
Crime Declined Again in Early 2008

For the second year, violent crimes, property crimes and arsons declined during the first half of 2008, according to preliminary figures from the FBI's Uniform Crime Reporting Program's semiannual report. Violent crime dropped 3.5 percent and property crime declined 2.5 percent during the first six months of 2008.
