Saturday January 10, 2009
January welcomes the New Year in the Southeast with plenty of winter festivals and special events. In North Carolina, jazz and big bands take center stage in Asheville, while Blowing Rock plunges into winter during the annual Winterfest celebration. Rodeos, oceanfront treasure hunts and a preview of spring flowers delight visitors to Georgia, while oysters, blues and more keep winter travelers entertained in South Carolina.

Popular February festivals include Hilton Head's annual Gullah Celebration, the North Carolina Jazz Festival in Wilmington and an array of other fun cultural, music and food events.
