Have you noticed that many airlines continue to boost their fees for checked baggage and oversized or overweight luggage? Just a few months ago, airlines such as AirTran, Northwest and Continental allowed one checked bag free of charge. Now, each charges $15 for that privilege in many situations. EasyJet has boosted its charge per kilogram for overweight bags by more than a third, and Spirit Airlines plans to increase its charge for a first checked bag from $15 to $19 in April.
