Kids
Weather Hour is a way for students to interact with meteorologists
from the Amarillo National Weather Service. To participate in Kids
Weather Hour, teachers or school personnel must register
their class/students as explained below. |
It
works like this...Students provide the questions, NWS meteorologists
will recognize the student as well as read and answer their question
over NOAA Weather Radio! |
Kids
Weather Hour will take place between 9AM-10AM on each Friday. Want
to participate? Here's how! |
Request
a date:
Send an email to John
Brost at John.Brost@noaa.gov
to request which Friday your class would like to participate. Please
request 2 alternate dates.

Submit
questions:
Once you receive confirmation through a reply email
from John Brost, have your students submit their questions and the
info requested below. Please submit questions
at least 2 weeks before your approved date.

If
you are in the Amarillo listening area, tune your NOAA
Weather Radio to 162.55 MHz during your assigned date and time.
In the Borger area,
tune in to 162.40 MHz. In the Miami area, turn your radio to 162.50
MHz. The NOAA Weather Radio is also broadcast at 1610 AM, but reception
is variable. |
