Center for Animal Disease
Information and Analysis
(CADIA)

The Center for Animal Disease Information and Analysis (CADIA) serves Veterinary Services (VS) by developing, implementing, supporting and utilizing information technology tools for the collection, management, analysis and dissemination of information that is critical to VS programs and other Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service initiatives. CADIA provides leadership in the areas of information systems, technology for collecting data in non-office environments, managerial and epidemiologic reporting, risk analysis methodologies, and computer-based modeling of animal disease.

The VS Application & Information Management and Technology Application & Data Access teams within CADIA provide technical services and multi-disciplinary expertise for VS and State Animal Health offices in the development, maintenance, deployment and support of information management systems which enable emergency management, animal disease control and surveillance, interstate and international animal movement, Veterinary Accreditation, the National Animal Health Laboratory Network, and National Animal and Premises identification.

The Risk Analysis Team within CADIA contributes to and utilizes the VS information technologies and data from external sources to develop and apply risk analysis approaches and computer-based models to support regulatory and strategic decision-making for animal health.
