There are two ways to submit the Ballast Water Report via an e-mail attachment:

This is the latest Ballast Water Reporting technology developed by NBIC, designed to transmit data accurately and reliably, while minimizing costly data transmission time. This Form functions like a Ballast Water Reporting computer program that resides on your PC. You can open it, add information, and save that information as many times as you like. To assist with record keeping, you can save unlimited copies of the Form on your computer, or print out paper copies.
When the Ballast Water Report is complete, please submit using one of the following methods:
Option 1: If your vessel is connected to the internet, you may use the "Submit form on-line" button on the bottom of the form. The Form will connect to NBIC and upload the data you entered. A printable receipt will open in your web browser, providing proof of successful transmission for your records.
Option 2: Click on the "Send form by e-mail" button inside the Form. The Form will automatically prepare an e-mail with a special attachment that contains the data you entered. This attachment is much smaller than the Form itself -- just 10 to 15 KB. This button may not work with all shipboard email systems.
Option 3: Use the "Save as text file" button to extract the data from your report to a .xfdf file on your computer. This file can then be submitted as an attachment to nbic@ballastreport.org.

2. Microsoft Word-format Ballast Water Reporting Form

The Microsoft Word-format Ballast Water Reporting Form is a flexible Reporting solution designed to reduce completion time while transmitting data in a format that complies with our electronic reporting requirements.
Once you have entered information into the form, selecting "Save" or
"Save As…" from the File menu will preserve this information.
This means you can enter standard data such as Vessel Information only once
and have it appear every time you use the Form, significantly reducing completion time.
To assist with record keeping, you can save unlimited copies of the Form on your computer, or print out paper copies.
When you are ready to send us the Ballast Water Report, simply attach a copy of the Form to an e-mail message and send it to nbic@ballastreport.org. You may compress the attachment as a ZIP archive to reduce transmission time.
Important:Do not attempt to make changes to the structure or display of the Form. Such changes will corrupt the internal coding that allows us to successfully process your data, making your Form unreadable by our systems.
